Summer casual looks for the low…

Happy first day of summer! What better way to bring summer in then to do a fun photo-shoot on the famous River walk in downtown Chicago. I met a former fashion blogger (Becca Chic) and model/actress/writer (Rachel Moretti) and together we had different summer looks we wanted to share with you all without breaking the bank. Summer is about having fun, creating memories, exploring and showing off your style. I broke down in detail what we had on in our photo-shoot and how you can recreate our looks for any occasion. unnamed-10

Becca Chic – Has on a ruffled off the shoulder white blouse and jean shorts from Forever 21 and heels from Guess. This casual look is perfect for any time of the day and night. You can also choose to wear sandals and accessorize the outfit with a necklace or choker. I love how she complimented the entire look with a hand chain bracelet and ring attached to it. I had on a fitted bodysuit from Mandees, ripped jeans from American Eagle and shoes from Payless. Now because I have such small feet, it’s sometimes a struggle for me to find heels my size (5). However, I’ve found some of my nicest and comfiest heels at Payless.

unnamed-12Summer is about having fun, creating memories, exploring and also showing off your style. Now don’t get me wrong it’s nice to buy things that are more on the expensive side and heck if you work for it then you can buy it. But, if you’re on a budget and are looking for outfits where you’re not spending a ton of money then stores like Forever 21, Mandees, Charlotte Rousse, Khols, Payless,  thrift shops, etc…are great places to find outfits for a low pri\

Puerto Rico 2017 Recap

Puerto Rico came and left before I knew it, but my experience there was impeccable. Words truly can’t explain the way I felt being on the motherland. From the moment I landed there was a comfort inside of me like this was truly paradise. Being there two days before my sisters big day/wedding we had the opportunity to relax and settle in. The day before the wedding was the walk through at the venue (Casa De Espana) and seeing it for the first time took my breath away. That same evening after the walk through we went to eat at an amazing restaurant named Raices in Old San Juan. Raices means roots in English and it was fitting because the waiters and waitresses had on traditional Puerto Rican outfits. The food and the drinks were delicious and the overall ambiance was joyful.

The day of the wedding I felt the jitters but excited all at the same time. Watching my sister walk down the isle as my father stood by her side holding her arm was beautiful and emotional. Instant tears of joy streamed down my sisters face and of course the rest of us. From beginning to end the evening was like a fairytale that I got to experience. It was also a blessing that 93 friends and family were able to witness such a spectacular wedding.

Casa De Espana is definitely a historic site and place to visit when traveling to Puerto Rico.

The days after the wedding were spent visiting family, Hiking EL Yunque/Rain forest up in the mountains, lounging at Luquillo beach and visiting El Morro/The Fort. Although, I was unable to do every activity I still enjoyed my time and the things I got to do. There’s the worlds highest zip lining in Puerto Rico, the Bioluminescent Bay adventure, Culebras and Viques which are 2 small island municipalities of Puerto Rico and are just 17 and 14 miles away from the mainland with private/white sand beaches, etc….

The people everywhere we went were kind, respectful, polite and made you feel welcomed.

Puerto Rico definitely stole my heart.

Puerto Rico/Wedding/Vacation

With Puerto Rico being just a few days away I can’t wait to share all the great things there is to do on the island. I hear many great stories but this time I get to experience P.R. for myself. My beautiful sister is getting married at Casa De España in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico and it is known to be a historic place on the island.
Casa de España is the headquarters of a private social organization whose members are those of Spanish descent in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Avenida de La Constitución in Old San Juan. The building was designed in a Moorish Revival style by architect Pedro Adolfo de Castro. The building dates from 1934. Although it is named “Casa”, it has never been a dwelling place for a family; rather it is a “house” whose members claim common ancestry. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.[1] It is not open to the public, but private affairs may be arranged. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casa_de_Espa%C3%B1a

Sharing some of my fave throwback beach photos in the meantime…
